Scott Yancey did his first Real Estate deal at the early age of only 14! He purchased a small second trust deed on a home in Studio City, California that earned 14% interest. While most kids his age were more focused on BMX bikes, video games and then cars as Scott was, he eventually used interest to help buy his. He also learned before most kids of his age that as a real estate investor, “Your money works for you.”
When Scott Yancey went off to college he got a job as a runner for a very successful real estate investment company. His boss, Walter J. Plumb III, told Scott something he has always remembered. Walter told Scott, “The last three runners that worked for me all became millionaires.” Walter pulled Scott aside one day and suggested that he get his real estate license, take an apartment building he owned, convert it to condominiums and then sell the units with his real estate license. A suggestion was all that was needed, and Scott not only got his license but made so much money his first year that he quit his college career and focused on real estate full time. Scott is still grateful to Walter who he no longer calls his boss, but now his friend, mentor and partner in Real Estate deals even to this day.
Out of all of this, he will tell you that one of the most important aspects of real estate investing is “there is always a deal, but knowing what you are doing is key to make money” regardless of what shape the market is in. Because of their extensive experience, Scott and Amie have become dedicated to “mentoring” and teaching other aspiring entrepreneurs the ins and outs of real estate investing. The Yancey Events teams span the nation offering educational training from experienced teachers designed to help people get a ‘leg up’ in the real estate investment world.
Amie Yancey doesn’t do anything halfway. She lives full-tilt – and she works that way, too.
As a Real Estate Agent with GOLIATH, has sold more than 600 new homes since moving to Las Vegas with her husband, Scott Yancey, in 2004. As Interior Designer, she immerses herself in the architectural spirit of the home or office – which means the result is never vanilla.
Her unique philosophy of life is partly the product of growing up on a ranch in Canada. Later on, she stabled her horses (one of which she once dyed purple) and took up riding dirt bikes. She has owned eight motorcycles, and has rolled her sand toy four times (after which she said, “She ain’t pretty, but the radio still works.”).
When she’s not working or surviving some sort of dare devil act, you’ll find Amie drag racing at stoplights in her Porsche, hanging out at the neighborhood coffee shop with Talulah, her miniature dachshund, or possibly cave diving in the Caribbean or just sitting on a beach with her husband Scott.
On any given day, you’ll either find Rexalynn off-roading in her JEEP, or paving the way for a smooth real estate transaction on behalf of her clients. Either way, this is one realtor who always knows where she’s going – and how to get buyers and sellers there, too.
Throughout her career, Rexalynn has worked two unique aspects of real estate: as a representative of clients, and as a representative of builders. This gives her an unparalleled understanding of the industry. Couple that with her experience as a business owner, and you’ve got a professional with a vast array of expertise who’s always ready to leverage it to her clients’ advantage.
Rexalynn and her husband are proud owners of two dogs, Molly and Maximus. She also plays as hard as she works. Beyond off-roading, Rexalynn enjoys riding Harleys and shooting – in fact, she’s a graduate of Combat Tactical Academy’s Basic Tactical Handgun Course. In other words, this is one real estate professional who never loses sight of the target.
